If you’re a parent who wishes the best for your kid, then you probably wonder how you can help them achieve the optimal oral health they deserve. Having a strong and healthy smile is important for the everyday life! To help you help your child have the oral health you want, our dentist, Dr. Denise M. Walthour, is happy to share some tips. Those tips are:
-Make sure your kid is cleaning their teeth regularly (Use a child-sized, soft-bristled toothbrush to brush their teeth twice a day.)
-Make sure your kid doesn’t eat many tooth-harming foods (It’s best to have them eat foods like fruits, veggies, and dairy products.)
-Make sure your kid visits their dentist (They should visit our office every six months.)
-Make losing teeth fun (You can do this by having the Tooth Fairy visit each time a chomper falls out of place.)
-Make sure your kid doesn’t go to bed with a bottle or sippy cup of milk (Going to bed with a beverage other than water can cause baby bottle tooth decay.)
-Make oral hygiene fun (You can do this by having them use a toothbrush that has their favorite superhero on it or by encouraging them to make as many bubbles as they scrub as possible.)
